DESIGN TALENTS PRESENT THEIR SING ALONG FASHION IN THE WINDOW OF THE BIJENKORF ROTTERDAM

The entire city is coloured in cheerful prints inspired by country flags and winning songfestivalsongs. The SING ALONG city design is the brainchild of design studio Vollaerszwart. As well as adorning buildings and iconic locations from Central Station to the Ahoy with the design, they have also launched a fashion project to bring the city into songfest atmosphere.

Last year, Madje Vollaers of studio Vollaerszwart launched an open call for fashion designers to use old country flags to create new contemporary fashion.

Michael van der Meide, Teun Seuren, Stephanie Willems, Rena Jansen, Yamuna Forzani and Laura de Wilde were selected and will present their designs on Saturday 8 May in the display window of the renowned Bijenkorf department store on Coolsingel. The window display will be completely transformed into a SING ALONG atmosphere for the song festival. The designers will be present to explain their creations. Host City Rotterdam is proud that the song festival atmosphere is added to the city at this special location.

Vollaers also showed three of her own designs. A taste of what Host City Rotterdam has in store. The SING ALONG fashion will be on display in the window of the Bijenkorf from the 8th till the 22nd of May.
